It seems I’m not the only one who thinks Tony Blair kicks ass. I’d vote for ‘im. πŸ™‚

And who else thinks it’s ridiculous that a third of Americans can’t identify the leader of our nation’s biggest ally??

  2. That is so sad. Blair is the man right now.

  3. I too voted favourably in the which Blair project. Twice. Though let us not forget these words at the end of the Yahoo article, as they strongly underpin the very nature of American popular opinion as peculiar and not a little bizarre:

“However pleased Blair may be with the results he must bear in mind that the former Conservative Prime Minister Lady Thatcher registered a 76 percent favorability rating among Americans when she left office in 1990″…

And she dines with Devils dontcha know…

  4. shouldn’t that be “And he dines with Devils dontcha know” ???

  5. Well, that’s true. But you can hardly blame us. We just had the impression that she was Ronnie’s best friend, and as Ronnie was givin’ us the jobs and the tax breaks (ah, the joys of deficit spending), we were willing to just go along with it. And besides, it was at least pretty cool that y’all had a woman leader. How were we to know that she was as cruel and unfeminine as they come? You know we’re insular Americans. It’s not like we were visiting the big pile of trash in Leicester Square or reading about riots in the Times… πŸ™‚
