I finally picked up my copy of Anne Tyler's "Back When We Were Grownups" today. (They had to send it over from another branch of the library.) I'm a couple chapters in and I'm enjoying it so far. It's not what I'd pick up for myself, but it seems to be an easy read and I've already thought of lots of stuff for our discussion. Have you gotten your copy yet? Anybody having any difficulty?

Haven't bought a copy yet. Will have to wait until the weekend when I can get downtown to Borders or Kinokuniya.

I was surprised - my university's general library had several copies when I looked it up, which is odd because it doesn't normally house general fiction. Saves me having to buy a copy, which is good! :)

My copy arrived yesterday...shortly after I got swamped with work. Typical!

I've got my copy, but still have to finish the end of Jitterbug Perfume. I just finished Hotel New Hampshire last night. I'll be spending all of Saturday in airports and on planes, so I'll have plenty of quality reading time soon!

Mine's on special order from Amazon, which probably means it won't get delivered here until after I've left.

I don't have a copy, but I know someone whom I can borrow it from. I've read two of Tyler's other novels (Accidental Tourist, Saint Maybe); they were fast reads so I'm assuming this one will be similar.

Library rang yesterday to say my large print copy is ready (the large print was the nearest one.) Now the trip to town to pick it up.

Just found out that special order means sometime in October so count me out of this one...

Yuck. You're kidding! Have you checked the local library? I don't know about France, but when I studied in Germany I was generally able to still get English books through them.

What about amazon.com (US version)? They've got lots of editions available, even some really cheap used ones. Might be an option. They've also got an e-book version and a downloadable Audible.com version as well.

Of course, this might be a lot of trouble for a book you could end up not liking. So don't go to any extreme lengths. I just want to have as many differing viewpoints as possible!
