Torture. My back has still been giving me trouble so I tried a new treatment today: massage. Ow. Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. I can't believe I actually paid someone to make me feel this wretched. Don't get me wrong; it felt great at the time and she probably did me good in the long run. It's just that I'm having trouble seeing past the "blinding, throbbing pain" right now.

I know the feeling, remember the trip to Cedar Point a few years ago when my back was out and I was going to the chiropractor the entire week before just so I could make the trip, well fast forward to this weekend, dunno how it happened but it went out again, but fortunately Cindy bought me a gift certificate for a 1 hour massage and I have been hanging on to it for just such an occasion. I sure hope this lady is good, in the mean time sitting on my vibrating/massage/heating chair pad is better than nothing.

Ooh, a full hour? Man, my half-hour one left me sore for three days. You won't be able to walk! I'm finally back to normal though and I can tell that she really worked out some of the knots. Just take some ibuprofen and don't drink any alcohol or do anything strenuous afterwards!

It doesn't sound right that a massage is leaving you with blinding throbbing pain. ;(

The other tip is to drink lots of water post-massage to help flush out the lactic acid.

Well, the blinding pain only lasted the first night or so. I'm fine now. It was weird; I felt the soreness most whenever my back was touched. Maybe I got a little bruised in the process. (She warned me that I might be, since it was a pretty rough "remedial" massage.)
