Sixty of the world's greatest scientists have declared Bladerunner the best science fiction film ever. And then they didn't even have the decency to list Philip K. Dick as their favorite author? Stupid scientists.

He came fourth: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,1290823,00.html Maybe he is more a writer's writer than a scientist's writer - Michael Moorcock opined "Dick quietly wrote serious fiction in a popular form and there can be no higher praise", and I think it was Brian Aldiss who referred to other authors of the time as now seeming like "navel-gazers in a cul-de-sac".

Yes, we've done that one. :) But why, anyway, did the survey ask for favourite films and authors rather than films+directors or books+authors?
