Amy did the math.
Gallon of gas in USD in Australia: $3.72
Gallon of gas in USD in America: $3.10 (average)

I'm so glad we don't have a car and we can both walk to work.

Unless I've done my sums wrong UK prices are about $7.

(93.9 pence per litre, about 3.8 litres to a US gallon, and about £1=$2)

Most of that is tax, we do have slightly higher octane petrol than the US gas and my car certainly gets loads more miles per gallon than an average US car!
