I completely and totally agree. I loved Ender’s Game as much as the next person, but I’m finding it really hard to reconcile that with the fact that its author is a bigoted homophobe who thinks I, as a straight married person, should violently overthrow the government to keep consenting adults from setting up house together. What a jerk.

Oh dear. I just very recently realized what a nut OSC really is, when I stumbled upon his epic 1000-page novel outlining the lives of a fictional Mormon family, Saints. As much as I ended up enjoying the book (I’m morbidly fascinated by Mormons and the Mormon religion), I was also repelled to discover the guy actually bought into the whole deal. That guy is trufax crazysauce, and so is his religion.

For some reason, I have always confused Ender’s Game with Gerald’s Game by Steven King, which is most definitely not a children’s book.
