Ohmygosh! Bob Davie wrote a letter to the student body asking them to e-mail a young boy named Scott Delgadillo with leukemia. Scott is a lifelong ND fan who attended the Purdue game with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Davie’s been in contact with the family for some time, and he says: “I know that with the attitude this extraordinary young man possesses, along with our prayers, he will win this battle.” Please consider dropping Scott a line and telling him the Notre Dame family is behind him all the way.

Whatever, SMC.
Finally. The Observer is back. Nothing new in this article about the Finnigan’s raid, except for the fact that SMC do not punish their students for off-campus offenses. Thus again, SMC chicks enjoy all the benefits of ND student life without any of the risks/costs. *sigh*

Observation
ESPN.com writes: “Anybody notice that Notre Dame is 5-2 and Bob Davie is doing one of the nicer coaching jobs of the season?”

Come on, already.
I really wish the friggin’ Observer would update their website. Fall Break is over kids. Get with the program.

ND Football
Hooray! ND beat West Virginia 42-28. This LoVecchio kid sounds like he’s just getting better and better. As Bob put it, “When you say he’s not a freshman anymore, that’s a good thing.” Hey, remember, like, five years back when Jim Sanson made a few big kicks and suddenly every girl on campus was stalking him? Can anybody on campus verify if this is happening. Because if I were there (and he’s cute at all), I definitely would. 🙂

Finnigan’s Raid: The Aftermath
Apparently 147 people got busted, including Troy Murphy and several other prominent athletes (!). The cops say that they were acting on numerous anonymous complaints as well as one “non-anonymous complaint from Notre Dame.” I don’t understand how 147 underage kids got cited… but only 6 got ticketed for false identification. How the hell did the rest of ’em get in there? *grin* The Trib’s got all the gory details.

Football
Awww, the South Bend Tribune has a cute article about a West Virginia football player and his feelings about playing Notre Dame. My favorite quote: “[Notre Dame is] always on television. As a young kid, you wonder if those things you’re watching on television really exist. Everything at Notre Dame, the stadium, Touchdown Jesus, the Grotto. It’s like Los Angeles. I’ve never been there.” He actually compared South Bend to LA… Isn’t that adorable?!

Silence
After two days of hitting “refresh” on the Observer’s website, I suddenly realized that it’s October Break. Huh. I miss vacations.
