I just got another email from @DendySydney. At this point, I don’t think there’s any actual way to unsubscribe. https://t.co/CegrLlhjjy

I’m now forwarding my Dendy emails to @acmadotgov and marking as spam, since every attempt to unsubscribe has failed repeatedly.

    RT @brian_sack: My 11-year old’s birthday card to me. #blessed http://t.co/URbZEQmmQa

@zachkitschke @theprojecttv Oh, sweet. I wasn’t sure if it was secret. I took a sneaky selfie (of course) but didn’t share. πŸ™‚

@drkknits Most Germans speak a bit of English and love to trot it out for practice. You’ll be fine.

@drkknits Another helpful (phonetic) phrase: “Bitta, vo ist dee Toiletta?” πŸ™‚

Thank you so much to @nxdnz and @damana for donating! My #frocktober fundraising is now nearly halfway to goal! https://t.co/bsC4guwAmH

@everydayhero Thanks for the reminder. You need an automatic way to share to EH from Instagram! πŸ™‚

Today’s frock is firmly in “Wacky Op Shop Grandma” territory.

And I’m not being age-ist. The Snook is fairly certain his grandma had this exact dress.

@sarah_liu Wait, are you and I the only speakers from Sydney that are doing Melbourne as well?!

Melbourne women – I’ll be speaking at this fantastic event in a few weeks! Hope to see you there. https://t.co/nuEu8lfHVF

Just got another donation at my #frocktober fundraising page, which takes me to over $300! See, it’s not all dresses and silliness. If you’d like to donate to ovarian cancer research, just use the link below.

    Very exciting news!

I sewed my first ever t-shirt! It’s Grainline Studio’s “Lark Tee”.

  • Lark Tee

Lark TeeSydney is in the midst of a spate of really hot Spring weather, and something’s triggered a terrible allergy attack. I spent most of the long weekend lying on the couch moaning. Amazingly, I did manage to get some sewing done in spite of my streaming eyes and nose, mostly because I’d wisely booked in some friends to come over for a “crafternoon.” Behold the Lark Tee. Yes, it’s a v-neck t-shirt. I put in a lot more time, effort, and money than I would have to simply buy a similar shirt from Target. But dammit, I made it! And it’s not too bad. The fabric is some beautiful teal jersey I bought at The Fabric Store a while back, and I spent a long time hand-basting a line down a single rib so I could make sure I wasn’t cutting off-grain. (That’s why cheaply made shirts tend to twist on you.) The cutting took a lot longer than the actual sewing, to be honest.Β I stitched most of it together on my overlocker, only using my normal machine for the necklineΒ and hems. Many thanks to Donna for her advice and moral support on the day–though it didn’t help that she was wearing her own (much nicer) version!

@kcarruthers Is it working for you? I’m desperate here. Two days of misery.

I’m worried I’m en route to a sinus infection. Can’t smell a thing and it’s all looking a bit, uh, greenish. GP appt made for tonight. πŸ™
