This guy has been live-tweeting P&P with screencaps, and it’s HILARIOUS. Apparently he’s going to start over again in like 20min. Highly recommended. (It’s like I send you weekly P&P links, lately.) πŸ™‚

#frocktober day 2 – brand new Lady Skater made by me! https://t.co/vp8Do3Aui7 https://t.co/2PuY82YTgw

@randomknits I will make a lot of adjustments next time. I was rushing this, so the fit isn’t great.

The dress took me about 24hrs total, but I would do a lot of fitting adjustments next time! Mainly that waist is way too low for me.

@Gemma_Stiles The Vans or the NASA posters? πŸ˜€ NASA posters, yeah. So pretty! (Loving the Vans too!!!)

@frankarr Hey! I’m in Melbourne the next couple days. Any time to catch up? Love to pick your brains about local tech events & groups!

@frankarr Excellent! Just heading to hotel now to get settled. Maybe this arvo?

  • #frocktober day 2 – brand new Lady Skater made by me!

    Lady Skater dress

#2 is the Lady Skater from Kitschy Coo. I made this in about 24 hours. The fabric is a fine knit (possibly merino?) with some elastane in it. I was worried the bodice would be too see-through, so I self-lined it. (The skirt and the sleeves aren’t lined though.) I didn’t do any mods, but next time I will definitely be shortening the bodice by a couple of inches. As it is, the waist seam is hitting me right at my navel. I also have a bit of fabric pooling at the back, so a swayback adjustment may also be in my future. But hey, it’s wearable and it counts!

My new Wonder Woman mug HAS A CAPE. Thank you Hilary Pearce!!

Frocktober has begun! My goal this year is to raise $1000 towards ovarian cancer research. I’m going to be wearing a different dress every single day, and I have a stretch goal of 50% of them being sewn by me. If you’re able to donate, I’d really appreciate it. πŸ™‚

#1 is a black wool Moneta dress that I sewed two years ago.
