    The value of ugliness – Interesting article that relates fan art of Brienne from Game of Thrones to this idea that women must be beautiful to be seen as competent. It’s something that I’ve been thinking about as I prepare to enter the corporate world. How much makeup do I need to wear? If I wear the wrong shoes, will they think I don’t know what I’m doing?

    @knitdra Do you have to book in? I am blessed with caterpillar eyebrows, so interested to see what they’d look like professionally done!

    Argh. Just realised I can’t go to the next @GGDSydney meetup next week due to BA study group. Poo.

    @blakkat @stamf CONGRATULATIONS!!

    @testchick I know! But for some reason EVERYTHING happening next week. New job starts, study group, Scrum AU conference, physio appt, CRAZY!

    Holy crap. Just got a cheque for $100 from RAS. Didn’t realise my vest won two cash prizes!!

    @witty_knitter @RoseRed_Shoes Thanks! I was honestly expecting like $15!

    Huh. The @ColettePatterns Laurel has a fair bit of ease! Should have made a smaller size. http://t.co/skxzRr3fdV

    @drkknits Thanks! I also lengthened it 2in, but I don’t think I needed it. Will probably hem to a more hoochie length!

    We got a card in the mail from @drkknits! But she sent us a Chicago picture instead of New York… http://t.co/RNGiC8hIxU

    I took in the side seams to get rid of an inch of ease. Much better! I’m loving princess seams on the back. http://t.co/JRyYN3Uzuo

    @surrenderdotty Welcome aboard!

    Basket weaving course rescheduled to end of May, if any of you are tempted to join! (ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE PREPARATION!) http://t.co/52MGNiHEvx

    @mrs_sockvictim @drkknits @randomknits @knitterjp @yarna_ @knitdra @rosered_shoes That’s why I’ve only made one quilt to keep for us!

    @RoseRed_Shoes Yep, the Tuesday night conflicts with my study group. Yay! BASKET WEAVING BUDDIES.

    RT @brown_note: Excited to be going to #ScrumAustralia next week.

    @knitabulous @RoseRed_Shoes @randomknits @drkknits @knitdra They have a separate class for macrame. But not owls, sadly.

    @ColettePatterns Thanks! I went back and took in the side seams to remove about an inch of ease, and it’s much better. Will finish it today!

    @clepetit Except I’ve just caught one too! Yesterday was extremely sedentary. 🙁

    I think I’m sick. But I promised @mrs_sockvictim I’d help her shift pavers this morning. Time to drug up… (And its RAINING!)

    @aimee_maree Sassy was a very influential girls’ magazine in the 90’s. All the smart US women of my age read it. Definitely a female word.

    Paleo exercise is lifting heavy things. We did that today. In the rain. http://t.co/LN0cz6bn1i

    My arms are rubber. Can hardly hold up the iPhone to tweet!

    225 pavers shifted with @the_snook. 164 put in van and then out of van with @mrs_sockvictim. Very tired and wet and dirty!

    RT @dr_nic: Proud to see Sydney keeping up its tradition of acting like it’s never even heard of rain, much less ever experienced it before.

    Thank you @NessNomster for looking after the kitties! They are just fine and only seem mildly miffed as us leaving them behind. 🙂

    Dreamt I was starting new job at Calico & Ivy with @randomknits as my boss. I was late and had no idea what I was doing!

    Thinking of perhaps scheduling a makeup/over session somewhere in the city to learn what to do for new corporate job. Any suggestions?

    @RoseRed_Shoes I was reminded of @knitdra’s old post about visiting the Benefit brow bar. And that made me think of makeup. Don’t need it?

    Damn. Looks like I’ll be reporting to the Olympic Park office for my first day. So much for my plan of walking to work!

    @ScottRhodie You sure? If I click the paperclip I get a file system window to select my attachment. No Drive required.

    Number of bottles of wine consumed thus far this Easter weekend: NINE. I’m somewhat disappointed we didn’t hit double digits.

    @randomknits Wow. Just – WOW.
