Me: I’m leaning towards these new frames… but they remind me of someone?

    Rodd:

    I still ordered them. 😂

We had a public holiday in Australia yesterday (Thursday), which means I get to post my favourite stupid German meme! 😂

(Germans call a day between a public holiday and a weekend – where you can take it as personal leave to have a longer break – a “Brückentag”, or “bridge” day.)

It’s my favourite time of year, when Swedish TV plays a 24-7 livestream of the annual Spring moose migration. I find it very soothing. No moose yet (it’s still early days), but there’s snow, forests, rivers, and birds. Look for the SVT Play app on your phone or smart TV. 🫎 📺

Congrats to my brother Joey, who was named Male Athlete of the Year and Male Senior Athlete of the Year at Ball State! ❤️🙌

Giving myself a high-five!🤚 I’ve spent a couple weekends crossing off a big task on my “Digital Life” To Do list: moving all of my passwords to a new password manager (Strongbox), setting up a shared DB with the Snook for passwords we both need to access; upgrading every password to something much stronger, and closing as many old junk accounts as possible. I also went through Google Password’s security recommendations (and Firefox’s browser ones too, but they were largely the same) to be sure I didn’t miss any junk accounts with compromised or easily guessable passwords. (There were things in there going back 12+ years!) I feel very good about this, and annoyed that I waited so long to finally get it under control. I also have renewed appreciation for companies that offer a prominent “Delete your account” option, and scorn for those that make you raise a support request.

Celebrating “Zwanze Day” with a bunch of beer geeks drinking some very funky Belgian brews at @wildflowerbeer… #zwanze 🍻

One of the big decisions for the renovation was whether to put in a fire. We don’t really need one for heating, but we liked the idea of one for coziness. We tossed up between gas (expensive, polluting) and electric (cheaper, less heat, not as pretty) before landing on a portable ethanol fireplace. It arrived today, and as luck would have it, it’s a perfect cold, grey, rainy Sydney Autumn day. This is pretty nice… 🔥

Week 7: Now that the plumbing fixtures are in, rendering can start! The builders have started covering up the bare brick and concrete, and patching where they chased in cables and pipes. We also decided to remove the visible cornice in the kitchen, so it’ll be gone everywhere except for our offices and the storage closet. They also put in the wiring for our feature lights in the living room. But even more exciting to me is the fact that the scaffolding on the Unilodge building at Broadway is finally GONE, after like 10 years I swear! 😍🏠 #renovation
