    @dbsmasher @alicegoldfuss @mipsytipsy I think the popular conception of “mentor” = one-way Yoda-like relationship is really limiting. I was in a group activity a year ago where we came up with all kinds of types of mentors, with sponsors and peers included. https://t.co/GvYBkeouOJ

    Segmentation and clustering are things human beings just naturally do by default. We see patterns. @johannux #wawsydney https://t.co/Ny8vsGqRvT

    Fascinating stuff. Using text analysis to break down the content on a site into themes and then work out the optimal number of themes to describe *all* the content. #wawsydney @johannux https://t.co/OncdhkQFRG

    Word clouds are a good way to name your audience clusters. What are the most distinct search terms they’re using? #wawsydney @johannux https://t.co/Kk4jE7KggY

    I asked a question about surveying users directly for their interests. Led to an interesting discussion of how qualitative and quantitative data can be used to verify each other! #wawsydney @johannux

    Second talk: Jakub from @datalicious talking about the Perfect Web Analyst. There’s huge demand right now but it’s hard to find the right people. #wawsydney https://t.co/AmsIwVe2wh

    @annmariastat @aprilwensel For me, a huge point of identification was the rejection of other women and anything feminine. I’m ashamed at how I thought of other women back then. Needless to say, I didn’t have girlfriends like I do now.

    @WAWSydney @rukouen Dammit. Starting at my phone. 😐

    How to identify folks with the potential to be good web analysts. “You can start with someone who knows JavaScript and teach them analysis… but they don’t usually survive long.” πŸ˜‚ #wawsydney https://t.co/zuDHjLhBz2

    RT @Mandy_Kerr: Some great talks on for this everyone! Would love to see you there!

    This will also be your last opportunity to see @luke__…

    @fox Out of curiosity – do you still need sponsors for Opportunity Program? What’s the cost to get involved?

    @thejameskyle @thisismywww @gilmae I call BS. There are multiple moves you could make on that board!!

    @charis I HAD THIS CASSETTE SINGLE. So good.

    The fun thing about my Campsite talk is every time I do it, I have to update the slides about the latest Silicon Valley bro culture offenses. Ugh. It’s like @unixbigot and his always out-of-date IoT security talk.

    @darthted @unixbigot Oh, there was a really good one! What was it called? Some bot that takes “2 ex [startup] devs disrupt [X] with [Y]” kind of thing. Dammit. That’s gonna bother me.

    @darthted @unixbigot I FOUND IT! @bodegabot πŸ™‚

    @jesslynnrose @charis @webconf_asia @ffcph @yow_conf We have YOW Data and Lambda Jam on the east coast of Oz in May, both of which have open CFPs!

    @jesslynnrose @charis @webconf_asia @ffcph @yow_conf And @voxxedsingapore will be on June 1 – I believe CFP is opening very shortly (if it’s not already).

    @chainedchaos31 I couldn’t believe it when I read about his lawsuit this morning. I really, really hope it’s a woman PoC judge presiding just so he squirms that much more when the case is inevitably thrown out.

    @chainedchaos31 I hope it’s like Milo’s thing, where he gets frustrated with the discovery process and ends up representing himself just so it’s even more embarrassing.

    Can I just say so far in 2018 I feel like a major influencer? I got a bunch of you to buy Google Home, and now you’re all obsessed with Twenty. I’ll have to plan my next blog post carefully…

    @bodil I’ve gotta build up to that.

    @fox I’m not surprised US tech giants are funding them. Not sure about Melbs, but in Sydney they are plundering the ranks of senior tech women. I can’t begrudge folks getting great opportunities, but it sucks when many of the leaders in the community head overseas.

    @fox Mostly I just really, really wish Aussie companies would invest more in growing the pool *and* retaining the experienced folks who help train the next gen.

    @sean_batt The game is called Twenty. But I warn you – incredibly addictive.

    @thisismywww @gilmae Yesterday @thejameskyle casually posted a screenshot of 7 x 20’s in my mentions. Which is why I was up til midnight giving myself carpal tunnel last night. 😐

    @gilmae @thisismywww @thejameskyle Literally speechless at the self-restraint and willpower involved.
