This has been a great trip, but it’s reinforced something that I started to feel this year and that contributed to me leaving my job: I am *over* travel. Time to stay home for a long time.

A perfect Oktoberfest day. Two years ago it was rainy and cold, but today we had blue skies and sunshine. We caught up with friends, enjoyed beer and Bavarian food, bought some souvenirs, and escaped before it got too crowded. ❤️🍻☀️ #oktoberfest

Knossos. Unfortunately it’s pretty hard to separate out what is actual archaeology from the deluded, fanciful “reconstruction” of the British guy who excavated it, but it was still fascinating to see the ruins of a civilisation we know so little about.
I’ve never been to a restaurant that had an entire separate menu just of olive oils! Thanks to @peskesi for a wonderful evening of local food served with generosity and pride. (And though he was initially skeptical of the dessert, it was delicious!)
