sometimes I just substitute “I just posted meaningless word vomit” when someone says “I wrote a blog”.

Totally agreed, but then I still remember when people used to actually refer to them as “web logs”, so a single entry as a blog seems really semantically wrong. If they need a 4 letter word for brevity on Twitter, why not just shorten it to “post”?
