Actually, Rodd’s been playing the same game (his first, the bastard) for two days now just getting short words and concentrating on the burning squares. He’s got over half a million points. I’ve been trying for the target words and big scorers, but evidently I need to switch tactics…

I think someone gave us Upwords for Christmas once, but we were pretty young and it was too “serious” for three little kids. Sadly, I preferred my Super Mario Bros. board game. I wonder if that’s why I ABSOLUTELY SUCK at Bookworm now. Karmic retribution for my unwillingness to play word games as a youth…

Damn…I keep hearing people say stuff like “One game for 2 days”, or “I’ve been playing for 14 hours” and they have like 500k?? I’m confused what people are doing…I have never had a game over 3 hours and I’ve gotten over a million four or five times. Make sure you’re focusing on the bonus words, once they get to 50k they stay there, but hey 50k a word is killer for your score. Target only those words in the beginning, don’t even go for big words, because they aren’t worth as much as bonus words and they advance your levels too fast (which means more red blocks)…keep the letters small and try only to make words that allow you to make bonus words. Sometimes you can get the bonuses up to 50k before you even get past the first 6 levels, and then you’re making 50k on easy words with almost no red squares….just my strategy anyway, but I notice people play single games for a really long time.
