the Chewbacca kinda freaks me out. What’s with the HUGE legs?

Yeah, Chewie’s legs are scary. I’m also a little confused: Are these guys soft cuddle toys or hard-but-chunky action figures? The Luke Skywalker looked soft to me, but some of the others have a plastic sheen to them. I want huggable versions.
