I don’t know about the immediate effects, but I think that diet sodas can cause an insulin response since your body thinks its getting sugar on account of the sweet taste. I know it’s your last vice and all, but you might want to look into moderating your consumption of the stuff. 🙁

Is it just me, or did a lot of folks on AskMeFi totally misinterpret your question? I mean, I don’t know the answer, but at least I understood what you were asking.
So good luck on your high school wrestling team, Kris! 🙂

I know, B, and I have cut down a fair bit… I’m just having trouble giving it up entirely. Not really a physical addiction; mostly because it still tastes good to me and I’d be miserable if I denied myself my last treat. Although I have to say, it hasn’t been tasting as good since my stomach problem started. Maybe a friggin’ ulcer will be the incentive to quit after all. 🙂

Have you tried flavored seltzer? I was addicted to the cranberry lime stuff for a while, but then got guilty over how much plastic I was consuming, even though I’m a compulsive recycler. :::eye roll:::
