Bye bye 20’s

And it’s here at last… the last day of my twenties. In the past week I’ve had lots of people tell me that the thirties rock, that they’re way better than the twenties. I’m worried that they may be LYING. What do you think?

  1. I played my 30 Card to get some lotion on an airplane. I inadvertently threw my 3.5 oz. hand lotion in my clear ziplock carry-on bag, and the airport security x-ray-er man stopped me for it.

He called over an even more important security man who said, “It’s the new year. Tell me a good story.”

I said, “Umm, I just turned 30, and I need all the moisture I can get?”

He turned to the original security guard and said, “It’s medicinal. Let it pass.”

(Btw, are you remembering your zip-lock bags for anything pourable or spreadable for your trip to the States?)

  2. Words of wisdom from my 30+ friends. Get drunk. They said they got their drinking form back in their 30s, and the whole year was great. And with new Blonde beer, carbs are no longer an issue!

    LOL

  3. Oh good grief. No, I hadn’t even really given any thought to the crazy airline security stuff going on over there. I’ll ask you all for recommendations once we get closer to packing time. 🙂

  4. The 30’s totally rock, Web Goddess. You’ve done so much in your 20’s and now, seamlessly, you become a woman of a certain age and have all the zest and zeal you had before but now you have this fierce womanly thing about you. You’re going to love them and tear them up.

  5. speaking as an ancient, I celebrate being 34 today, the 30s have been pretty good so far.
What i love most is feeling justified in poo-pooing the demented rants of the teenager now there is a safe decade between me and the them.
    Happy birthday for the morrow.

  6. Anient? You young people these days, you have no idea what ancient is. 🙂

Happy Birthday Kris. And many many many more of them.

  7. I think its definitely time you got knocked up 😉

  8. Happy Birthday! When you find out, let me know. I’ve got seven months of my 20s left. I need to know if I should live it up while I can.

  9. Oh my gosh Kris – I agree with Beau, 30s rock — I’ve *loved* my 30s so far… have lived it up and also settled down, feel much more secure in myself, but absolutely do *not* feel old or stodgy or over the hill… (and btw, sure you don’t remember this, but you were one of the first people I discussed turning 30 with… back in ND days, telling you ‘hmm – wonder how I should celebrate my 30th…’ And now we’re nearly 7 years on from that – eek!]

  10. Good god, Stefanie. How did I NOT know you had a blog? I am clueless. Consider yourself bookmarked!

  11. Happy Birthday!

30’s are better than 20’s because now you KNOW how great you are 😉

  12. and now, for our traditional birthday greeting:

    HAPPY DAMN 30TH BIRTHDAY, BASTARD!

Have a great one! I’ll be joining you on the third floor soon enough 🙂

  13. Happy Birthday, Kris! Yes, in my experience, the 30’s are much better than the 20’s; no lie.
