  • Thinking.

    Spent ten minutes debating with the Snook today whether we should go back to low-carb eating… and then I read this Twitter thread, and it stopped me dead in my tracks.

    @bron2042 I used it for a bit for learning some German last year! Still have the app on my phone.

    @bron2042 I found a couple downloadable decks with different vocab and questions, and it worked well. I just lacked the discipline to keep up with it every day. I also used it to help study for a work certification, and for that I created my own flash cards. (I passed!)

    RT @darkosubotica: David here wrote a few words on my reinvent talk about AWS systems manager 😍 https://t.co/51C8Yyzsbu

    @_hhandoko It used to be a standalone app but they pivoted it to browser-based a few years back. I was skeptical but was eventually convinced to migrate and subscribe. They provide lots of budgeting and financial literacy training too via their newsletter and blog.

    Last night a made a video showing how I weave in ends to finish a piece of knitting. I hope it’s useful to you! https://t.co/pLIt7xAnwb

    @bodil Thank you for this thread! Rodd was thinking of watching it, but he will steer well clear.

    Good grief, Aziraphale and Crowley are on there twice! (And I confess I read a LOT of it.) 🙃 https://t.co/I1Qpgd2BYu

    @bodil I went looking for Finn/Poe a while back but couldn’t find anything I liked. Got any recs?

    @bodil Ahhh! We were literally saying last night that it’s time to finally watch Clone Wars/Rebels.

    @laimelde Wait. Are you saying there’s a difference between / & | ???

    @laimelde 😳 I can’t believe I’ve read an (embarrassingly large) number of fanfics without knowing that.

    This. I talked on a knitting livestream for *four hours* on Sunday chatting to people on Twitch and it was honestly the best I’ve felt in weeks. I miss people. I miss variety. I miss conversations. (And yes, I miss an audience too.) https://t.co/HuJYUOvlJ2

    @yassmin_a Haven’t you seen the finale of Gossip Girl, where Chuck and Blair have to quickly get married so she won’t have to testify against him in his murder trial? They mean that. 😂

    @mattstratton Okay, but tell him he owes me one back! 😂 https://t.co/RSZjxYPG3x

    @SaraJChipps WHAT. 😳

    @philnash @MitchPommers LOVE IT! 👏👏👏

    I filmed a video last night showing how I weave in ends on a knitted piece. There are lots of ways to do it, and this is how I did it on Lanatus. I’m planning to do some more technique videos this year if people find them helpful!

  • Video: Weaving in Ends in Knitting

    I noticed the other day that a few of the craft technique videos I put on YouTube as a lark have started attracting lots of views, so there’s clearly an appetite for “how to” content. With that in mind, I’m going to try to make a few more this year. I recorded the first one last night, which was how I weave in ends in knitting (using the recently finished Lanatus jumper as the example). Please let me know if there are any other specific techniques you’d like to see demonstrated!

    @jasonandrade She lives in a relatively rural area so not a ton of options. Ended up working for a small local company that did web dev and IT for lots of small businesses. Did that until she retired, and now she owns a quilting shop (always her hobby).

    Knitting with Kris – today’s the day I finish Lanatus! https://t.co/SGy8OKVXiF https://t.co/fmyvmdCz8Z

    It took FOUR HOURS of live streaming this morning, but #lanatus is finally off the needles! I just need to weave in some ends and give it a wash & block. ❤️🧶 @ Munich, Germany https://t.co/Ex8UXSbomW
